  • Mayor Chang attends the WTCC for Investment Promotion.

Taoyuan Mayor Chang San-Cheng attended the “World Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce (WTCC) Investment Promotion Symposium” at the COZZI Blu Hotel tonight (July 25). Mayor Chang expressed that the WTCC members have achieved remarkable success around the world and are outstanding entrepreneurs and leaders in the local Taiwanese business community. As the pandemic gradually subsides, he warmly welcomed the members to return to Taiwan frequently. Mayor Chang pointed out that Taoyuan enjoys unique advantages with abundant development opportunities. Not only does it have Taoyuan International Airport and a strategic location near Taipei City and New Taipei City, but also the “Taoyuan Aerotropolis Program” is vigorously progressing, making it an ideal choice for investment in Taiwan.

Mayor Chang mentioned that Taoyuan has several advantages for investment. First, it enjoys a favorable geographic location. Second, it is home to more than ten universities and colleges, providing a skilled and educated workforce. Third, its flat terrain offers an advantage in finding suitable industrial land compared to New Taipei City. Mayor Chang warmly welcomed the WTCC members to invest in Taoyuan as a new base for industrial development. The city government will fully support this endeavor, enabling Taoyuan’s industries to advance further.

The Department of Economic Development stated that Taoyuan, as the first destination for visitors to Taiwan, not only gathers strategic advantages in terms of location, transportation, industries, and population but also continuously enhances the resilience of its economy and industries, maintaining sustainable growth momentum. The city actively attracts key industries with high value-added, low pollution, low energy consumption, and low water usage, adhering to principles of sustainability in policy planning. By creating competitiveness and sustainability for tomorrow’s economy, Taoyuan aims to serve as a strong support system for Taiwanese businesses returning to invest in Taiwan.
