Mammography

Oral Mucosal Screening

1. Residents above 30 years old who smoke, chew betel nuts, or as recovered betel nuts addicts.

2. Indigenous people between 18 and 30 years old who have ever addicted to betel nuts. (Please bring the household certificate with you) 

Once every 2 years.
NHI-appointed dental or ENT clinics; HPA-certified medical institutions for oral mucosal screening.
Prevet-ive Health Service for Adults

1. Once every 3 years for people between ages of 40 and 64. 

 2. Once a year for people above 65 and above. 

3. Once a year for Polio patients aged 35 and above. 

 4. Once a year for Indigenous people aged 55 and above .

NHI-appointed medical institutions that meet the requirement for providing adult preventive health examination.




Healthy & Happy Family Plan Subsidy
Q1 Do I qualify for the Healthy & Happy Family Plan subsidy?

Answer: This subsidy plan is divided into three parts, including pre-pregnancy checkups, amniocentesis (or chorionic villus sampling), and Down's Syndrome Screening.

1. Pre-pregnancy health examinations:Reg-istered citizens or citizens whose spouses reg-istered in Taoyuan city,and yet to produce first-borns are entitled to this subsidy.

2. Amniocentesis for pregnant women: Registered female citizens of the city, or foreign spouses who have yet to receive their R.O.C citizenship but whose husbands are registered citizens of the city. Those who meet MOHW Health Promotion Administration’s Eugenic Health Law regulations for reductions and exemptions or subsidies qualify for amniocentesis (or chorionic villus sampling) screening subsidies. This is not limited to the first-born child.

3.Down's Syndrome Screening: Registered pregnant women in Taoyuan city, or foreign spouses who have yet to receive their R.O.C citizenship but whose husbands are regis-tered citizens of the city are also qualified.

Note: MOHW Health Promotion Administration’s Eugenic Health Law regulations for reductions and exemptions or subsidies:If a pregnant woman is above age 34, or her spouse or family has a history of genetic disorder; has given birth to an abnormal child;has positive serum screening suspected of abnormal chromosome risk above 1/270; fetus shows abnormalities or suspected of genetic disorder in ultrasound screening, she is eligible for subsidies.

Q2 What are the examination items and subsidized maximum amount in the Healthy & Happy Family Plan?

Answer: This subsidy plan is divided into three parts, including pre-pregnancy
checkups, amniocentesis (or chorionic villus sampling), and Down's Syndrome Screening.

1. Pre-pregnancy health examinations:

(1) For males, there will be 5 examination items: These 5 items include urine test, routine blood tests, syphilis screening, HIV screening and semen analysis. Each case may be subsidized up to a maximum amount of NTD 750.
(2) For females, there will be 8 examinations items: These 8 items include urine test, rubella and chicken pox antibodies, routine blood tests, syphilis screening, HIV screening, thyroid-stimulating hormone, and systemic lupus erythematosus,and Glycated Hemoglobin .Each case may be subsidized up to a maximum amount of NTD 2150.

2. Amniocentesis (or chorionic villus sampling)for pregnant women:Provides amniocentesis (or chorionic villus sampling) for pregnant women. Each case may be subsidized up to a maximum amount of NTD 2000.

3. Assisted reproduction (in vitro fertilization) subsidies: Each person may be subsidized up to a maximum amount of NTD 20,000 for ovulation medication and in-vitro fertilization (actual costs incurred will be subsidized).

Q3 How can citizens receive their subsidies?
Answer: Pre-pregnancy checkups, amniocentesis (or chorionic villus sampling), and Down's Syndrome Screening: Citizens holding doc-uments that certify their identification can register at the outpatient department in par-ticipating medical care institutes. Medical institutes collaborating with the Health Bu-reau will provide examination subsidies (registration and diagnostic fees not includ-ed).


Q4 Do I qualify for the Healthy & Happy Family Plan (pre-pregnancy and pregnancy care with Traditional Chinese Medicine) subsidy?

Answer: This subsidy plan originally included pre-pregnancy checkups, amniocentesis (or chorionic villus sampling), and Down's Syndrome Screening. In 2017, the additional pre-conception and healthy pregnancy care with Traditional Chinese Medicine was promulgated. This included pre-conception care and maintaining a healthy pregnancy with Traditional Chinese Medicine.

1. Pre-conception care: Married female registered in Taoyuan city, and yet to produce first-borns are entitled to the subsidy.

2. Healthy gestation care: Pregnant women reg-istered in Taoyuan city.

Q5 What are the examination items and subsidized maximum amount in the Healthy & Happy Family Plan (pre-conception and healthy gestation pregnancy care with Traditional Chinese Medicine)?

Answer: The four methods of diagnosis in Traditional Chinese Medicine are both included in pre-conception care and maintaining a healthy pregnancy. The 5 items are diagnosis and medical consulting, differentiation of physique, health education and diet counseling, acupoint health care, and strengthening the body with Chinese herbal medicine.

Q6 How can citizens apply for receive their pre-conception and healthy gestation care with Traditional Chinese Medicine subsidies?

Answer:
1. Pre-conception care:Qualified citizens should submit related documents of certification (identification card, household certificate registry or household certificate with marriage registry, application form) and apply to the Health Bureau (by postal or in person). After the Health Bureau has reviewed and approved, qualified citizens can take the approval sheet to participating hospitals and enjoy their pre-conception treatment. 

2. Healthy gestation care:Qualified citizens should submit related documents of certification (identification card, a copy of mother’s handbook cover and prenatal page, application form) and apply to the Health Bureau (by post or in person). After the Health Bureau has reviewed and approved, qualified citizens can take the approval sheet to participating hospitals and enjoy their pregnancy treatment. 

Q7 Where can I get the application forms for pre-conception and healthy pregnancy care with Traditional Chinese Medicine?

Answer: The application forms can be found at Health Bureaus, 13 District Health Centers in the city and participating Traditional Chinese Medicine medical institutions, or downloaded from the Health Bureau website.

Pharmaceutical Care Service
The pharmaceutical care service is applicable to residents registered in Taoyuan city with any of the following conditions. For more information, please contact the closest public health center or community pharmacy.
1. Patients with two or more chronic conditions.
2. Patients currently using at least 5 kinds of prescriptions.
3. Patients who have two or more continuous prescriptions for chronic diseases.
4. Patients receiving ineffective treatments.
5. Patients who need further instructions for drug use, or in other situations that require assistance from pharmaceutical personnel.
