Taoyuan Mayor Chang San‑Cheng attended the launch ceremony of the FedEx Taoyuan International Airport Transshipment Center on March 11. Mayor Chang said that the opening of FedEx’s largest transshipment center to date in Taoyuan underscores the city’s strategic role in global trade and AI-driven high-tech supply chains. It also builds on the strengths of the Taoyuan-Hsinchu-Miaoli Silicon Valley Initiative, further cementing Taoyuan’s position as a key logistics hub and boosting Taiwan’s overall competitiveness.
Mayor Chang noted that Taoyuan enjoys a unique combination of advantages as Taiwan’s international gateway, a major logistics center, and a high‑tech industrial cluster. These strengths place the city at the heart of AI and advanced manufacturing supply chains. From semiconductors to AI servers and other high-value-added products, manufacturing, assembly, and air freight export can all be completed efficiently within Taoyuan. As the central government advances the Silicon Valley Initiative, the city government will continue to provide full support for FedEx’s expansion needs, further strengthening Taiwan’s position in the global supply chain.
