The children infected with enterovirus should rest at home for 7 to 10 days and should not go to school. According to the enterovirus prevention measures stipulated by Taoyuan City Government - "Inform within 48 hours, stop class according to 1127", which stipulates, in elementary schools (first and second grade), kindergarten, children after-school care service center and nursery center, if there is any child diagnosed with hand-foot-and-mouth disease, herpangina or suspected enterovirus infection, the institutes should notify the Taoyuan City School and Agency Infectious Diseases Notification System within 48 hours after any child has been found sick.
If there are more than 2 sick children in the same class within one week, the class should be stopped for 7 days. If the institutes fail to notify or stop classes in accordance with regulations, the Department of Public Health will impose a fine of NTD $ 3,000 to NTD $ 15,000 according to Article 37 of Communicable Disease Control Act.
